Motorcity, the sole distributor of BAIC in Bahrain, has unveiled the new BAIC X65, the first urban SUV for the brand, based on SAAB technology.

Since the acquisition of core intellectual property of Nordic luxury brand SAAB in 2009, BAIC has successfully applied the SAAB experience into the development of this urban SUV’s core parts, supplier management system, production manufacturing system and quality control system. The X65 therefore offers leading technology with first-class performance, and security configuration to meet consumers’ demand for a high-performance SUV.

Apart from remarkable performance, the X65 also inherited the SAAB safety concept and design criteria of the European luxury brand, ensuring that the entire trip is hassle free.

The X65 body comprises 64 per cent high-strength steel, bringing the maximum tensile rigidity to 1,500MPA, and at the same time is also equipped with integrated punch-formed doors, providing superior safety and protection.

The infotainment console is fitted with an eight-inch TFT touch screen which features radio, Bluetooth, GPS navigation, USB, Aux and iPod connectivity. The built-in four-channel power amplifier provides a powerful in-car entertainment system.

Starting at only BD72 per month the BAIC X65 offers exceptional fuel efficiency with consumption of 13 kilometres per litre.

BAIC is one of the top four largest automotive groups in China with more than a 56-year history and made its world debut at the Dubai Motor Show in 2013.
